I ranked 10th of the top 20 Photographers for the Fall of 2008 at the International Society of Professional Wedding Photographers I'm honored to have my name right next to many talented photographers I admired.

I also received 3 Accolades of Excellence in the Photojournalism Category at Wedding and Portrait Photographers International.

WPPI is a huge organization, members from Australia, UK, Russia , US (just to mention a few) enter the competition and after a panel of judges review thousands of images a very selected group is recognized. We had a wonderful time photographing Jessica+Will's fabulous wedding in New York. They had a beautiful ceremony and gorgeous reception at the The Yale Club it was a fantastic day full of smiles, a few tears and a rocking reception.

I was blessed to have Edgar (hubby) with me helping me all day, well actually the whole trip, :) and my absolutely fabulous and super cool 2nd shooter, my dear friend Agnieszka, she helped me the entire day capturing gorgeous images. how does a 1lb kitty gets on the middle of the expressway ?.....I rather not get into that now.

But I want to say a huge THANK YOU to Rosemary. who first spotted her, did not look away and actually did something about it. To Circe who is my good friend, neighbor and my hero! she always answers my calls when I do not know what to do in these type of situations and actually rescued "bella" from the traffic, and Lucinda for giving "bella" a chance to a forever home :)

Remember marcy+ramon? well michelle is marcy's gorgeous sister :)

Michelle+Paul's story is super cool, they met at the place where they will be getting married, the fabulous Riven Rock Ranch not long ago...actually back in June, and let me pause a little bit to introduce the lovely "June":

She is the cutest puppy I've ever seen! I kept trying to bring her back home with me... with no luck :(

and the proposal...lol! well lets just say it was at a very unexpected place ;)

let me share another amazing slice of their story here:

that dress is not her wedding dress....is Paul's granmother's dress 55 years old and in perfect shape, and it fitted Michelle perfectly. I love those little signs when you realize it was meant to be.

I can keep going and going, but I will let them to finally get to see all the images in their gallery, we shot all afternoon and ended up super late at night and it was so much fun ! Thank you so much Michelle+Paul for an amazing time, to Paul's parents for helping with all this craziness and baby sitting June, to Riven Rock Ranch for the delicious dinner and wine, my wonderful assistant Rose Mary for helping me, and special thanks go out to Martha, for trusting me again to document her gorgeous family, and for spoiling me with gifts every time, take a look:

her name is lola....

I never get to name my dogs...Lola was named by a great person that picked her up from the streets. (thank you nellie!) perfect name for her, she is definitely a cute little lola :)

I adopted Lola from a wonderful organization Tip of Tex k-9 rescue Dee Labunski is doing a fantastic job helping animals in very difficult situations. I have to admit that it was not planned...it just happened...when we saw her picture in Petfinder we just knew. Please checkout her website to learn more about the work she is doing. Her organization is a non-profit, and in need of foster homes, volunteers, donations and of course homes for the 50+ dogs that she has under her care.

My wonderful vet Dr. Bruce

and vet technician John Cortez visited yesterday to check lola....she is Heartworm Positive and we are not sure but she may be pregnant...we will know in a couple of weeks. Heartworm is a horrible deadly disease and very easy to prevent, just one pill a month and done ! If your dogs are not in HW prevention call your vet asap and ask her/him about it. It is transmited by mosquitoes and right now there are lots of them.

It looks like Lola's HW is not very advanced so she has a very good chance. However she will have to go through a very intensive treatment and there is always a possibility that she will not make it...please send good vibes our way...

for those of you wondering how Booh is doing here are a few pics :)

this is so booh...she is easily entertained by all kinds of critters in the backyard :) she is doing good, however she is very shy around new people, so next time you visit or see me walking her make sure to say hi :) it takes some time but she will warm up to you :) insider tip: treats help a lot ! lol!

and you must be wondering how Booh and Lola get along....its been 2 days but it looks like they will work out their differences :)

ok beautiful people out there...time for another destination wedding post. Magda+Jordan are a super cool couple, they had their dream wedding in Parras Coahuila Mexico. Three days of wonderful festivities, we started in Monterrey with a wonderful reception, next day a pool party and then the big day at the Casa Madero vineyard. We had a fabulous time covering this super fun weekend, and got to meet lots of wonderful people while there. This is going to be a super sized post, so go grab your favorite glass of wine (I'm having a cabernet sauvignon from the 400+ Casa Madero winery) and enjoy !

Out of the office-Austin

back to austin to shoot a couple of sessions :) Ill be back in a couple of days. btw just in case you were wondering, the image above was taken earlier this year. Jennifer + Mike will be getting married next month ! We had a blast in Austin while shooting their sessions. Cameron + Piper had a wonderful wedding in San Miguel de Allende. The wedding party was treated to a fabulous stay at the Hyder house. The New York Times published an article about this house last year, you can check it out here one of the most beautiful colonial style houses I have ever seen...truly breathtaking....

Fabulous organization by Celebrations San Miguel Linda Walcowich and her team Elizabeth and Luna did a fantastic job! So if you are planning to have your wedding in San Miguel de Allende, you have to give them a call, you can view their website here.

It was not easy to pick my favorites for the blog. make sure you watch the slideshow so you can see even more pics ! In a few weeks I will also add a gallery to my website named "destination weddings" there you will be able to see even more images....

Destination-San Miguel de Allende, Mexico

Words can't describe how excited I am to go back to where my photography journey began... San Miguel de Allende.

I will be photographing Cameron + Piper's wedding there this weekend, I have to say that I'm so excited to go back and feel the town through a wedding ! Thank you guys for the trust you have placed on me :)

I hold this little town very dear to my heart, the colorful architecture, the beauty of its landscapes and its people opened my eyes to what I was destined to do....did I mentioned before that I have an accounting degree ? lol ! its true !

My first art exhibits included images from this beautiful town in Mexico, I will be posting some of my previous work on a section called "the vault" so you can get to see some of my very early work... make sure to come back for "the vault" series, it will be fun !

meet booh !

This is a bitter-sweet post. After loosing my 2 dogs to cancer within a 2 year time frame I was heartbroken and said to myself no more pets...It was not easy to visit the shelter, but I found some courage and something wonderful happened....I fell in love again!

here she is, our sweet golden retriever girl:

she is on the shy side, I think she is a little bit scared, so we are going to work on getting her confidence back. we took her for a walk and then we had to put her back in...it was heartbreaking to say goodbye...

see that pink dot ? that means she's been adopted ! that was last thursday and she will be ready to come home today, yey!

booh will be safe and at her new home with us today, however there are so many dogs that won't make it... next time you are looking to add a new pet to your family please think about adopting one. We have a big population of great dogs that need a loving home. Please visit your local shelter or rescue organization. This is a great resource, check it out ! www.petfinder.com
